CONSTIPATION

Study shows that more than 20% of people in India are suffering from #constipation.

The stomach is not cleaned properly because of lifestyle issues. Due to constipation, there are many problems during defecation. People suffering from this have to go for defecation several times. On the other hand, the person suffering from not getting the stomach cleaned properly feels tired throughout the day. A person suffering from constipation has to eat and drink very carefully.


Ayurveda says imbalance between any of the three doshas, ie Vata, Pitta, Kapha can cause constipation. Thus our body gets surrounded by many lifestyle issues.


This is often due to carelessness in food and lifestyle, leading to many times the food we eat is not digested & the stool becoming dry and hard, and bowel movements are not possible at the right time.


Apart from carelessness constipation can also be caused by 

-The lack of fibre in the diet. 

-Spicy food 

-White flour 

-Fried food

-Drinking less water

-Lack of minerals ie fluids in the body can also cause constipation. 

-Not eating on time or having an empty stomach can also cause constipation. 

-Waking up late at night and sleeping till late morning can also cause constipation. 

-Consuming excessive amounts of tea, coffee, tobacco or cigarettes, etc. can also cause constipation. 

-Hormonal imbalance or thyroid can also cause constipation. 

-Sometimes due to the use of painkillers in high doses or for a long time.


If the constipation is not treated for a long time, many other health challenges start surfacing. 


How brahmasthan (centre of the house) is important from Vastu's point of view, similarly Stomach(centre of our body) is very important for the normal functioning of our body.


That's why never ever ignore any symptoms of constipation. 


Constipation can be eliminated with simple home-help remedies.


Symptoms of constipation: 

There are many symptoms of constipation. Bowl movement is also very painful. In this, the victim is neither able to eat food properly nor can do his work properly. A person suffering from constipation feels lethargic throughout the day.


Some of its main symptoms are as follows.

  • Trouble passing stools.

  • Abdominal pain and heaviness.

  • Gas in the stomach, burning sensation in the throat.

  • Hard and dry stools.

  • Persistent headache.

  • Remaining lethargic throughout the day.

  • Persistent pain in the calves.

  • Bad breath and blisters.


Although there are quick remedies for constipation in allopathic, homoeopathy & Ayurveda), but best is some of the home-based remedies.


I have personally benefited immensely from consuming black raisins early morning(soaked overnight). I also found improvement in my digestive system & relief from gas & acidity.


There are many other home remedies that I have heard from those who have tried & benefited from using (**)

-Castor oil

-Bael - I understand it has medicinal properties 

-Cumin and celery

-Triphala powder 

-Fennel seeds

-Gram 

-Flaxseed 

And so on….
